Then last Friday, the United Arab Emirates proposed a ceasefire in Gaza to the 15-member Security Council. On that day, 13 members of the council including Russia supported the proposal. Since that day, Israeli forces have been attacking Gaza indiscriminately. More than 17 thousand 700 people have been killed in the valley so far. Most of them are women and children.
