A day after burial, the body was found in a bamboo grove

A woman’s body was found in a nearby bamboo grove a day after burial in Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi. There was no shroud on the body. On Saturday afternoon, a new shroud was purchased and the body was buried in the same grave for the second time.

The incident took place in Chakarpara Mahalla of Arani Town area of Bagha Upazila. The dead woman’s name is Sukoda Bewa (90). Husband’s name is Chaleman Hossain. He was buried at Chakarpara cemetery last Thursday afternoon.

According to local and family sources, the woman’s body was buried at Chakarpara cemetery last Thursday afternoon. Today, after Fajr prayer, his son Zamir Uddin went to his mother’s grave and saw that the bamboo surrounding the grave was removed and the grave dug. He went to the cemetery with his neighbors and brothers and saw that there was no body in the grave.

After searching around, they found the body in a bamboo bush about 50 meters north of the grave. The deceased had no shroud. Later he was buried a second time by buying a new shroud.

Zamir Uddin, the son of Sukoda Bewa Maj, said that there was no mother’s body in the grave. Even though the body was found in the bamboo grove, there was no shroud. Later he was buried in the same grave after buying shroud cloth from the market.

Liton Hossain, a councilor of Ward No. 4 of Arani Municipality and a resident of Chakarpara Mahalla, said that after learning about the matter, he went to the cemetery and saw the dead bodies being lifted. They think superstitious people or drug addicts can do such things.
