Five Members of Parliament including Mashrafe Bin Mortaza have been appointed as the Whip of the National Assembly. This information was informed in a press release of the National Parliament Secretariat today on Tuesday.

It is said in the notification that today the President has appointed Member of Parliament Noor-i-Alam Chowdhury elected from Madaripur-1 constituency as the Chief Whip of the 12th National Parliament. A notification has been issued by the Parliament Secretariat in this regard.

Five people have been appointed as whips in a separate notification. Apart from Narail-2 Constituency MP Mashrafe, the other whips are Dinajpur-3 Constituency Member Iqbalur Rahim, Joypurhat-2 Constituency Abu Saeed Al Mahmud (Swapan), Narayanganj-2 Constituency Md. Nazrul Islam (Babu) and Saimum Sarwar (Kamal) of Cox’s Bazar-3 seat. Among them, Iqbalur Rahim and Abu Saeed Al Mahmud served as whips in the recently departed 11th Parliament.

Former captain of Bangladesh national cricket team Mashrafe Bin Murtaza has been elected as Member of Parliament from Narail-2 constituency for the second time as Awami League candidate.
