US President Joe Biden said that he has decided how to respond to the drone attack on US troops in Jordan. He said these things to the reporters while going to Florida from the White House for the election campaign on Tuesday.
Last Sunday, three soldiers were killed in a drone attack on a US military base in the northeastern region of Jordan near the border with Syria. Another 34 people were injured. The US blamed Iran-backed armed groups for the attack.
Yesterday, Biden met with top advisers at the White House to determine what the response to the attack on the US forces in Jordan would be. He then left for Florida on Air Force One.
Asked by reporters whether he had decided how to respond to the attack, Biden said, “Yes.” However, he did not give details in this regard.
When asked whether Iran is responsible for this incident, Biden said, “They (Iran) are supplying weapons to those who carried out the attack.” From that place I will hold them responsible.
Biden also said, “I don’t think there is a need to stop a large-scale war in the Middle East.” I don’t want anything like that.’
White House National Security Council spokesman John Curbio was with Biden yesterday. Curb also spoke to reporters while sitting on Air Force One. He hinted that the US response could be multiple.
Karby told reporters, “It is fair to expect that we will respond in an appropriate manner.” And most likely you will see multidimensional action. Not just one, but multiple steps will be taken.
Biden is under a lot of pressure over the attack on US forces in Jordan. Opposition Republicans alleged that the leader of the Democratic party did not provide any protection zone for the US forces.
