Read Time:2 Minute, 5 Second

Argentina has stumbled again in the regional selection of the Olympics. Like the first match in the final, Javier Macherano’s team left the field with a draw in the second match today. However, Brazil, who lost the first match, turned around and won the second match.

All in all, the battle for the Olympic football ticket from the Latin American region is now Brazil-Argentina. Paraguay almost secured one of the two tickets with the maximum four points. Brazil-Argentina will face each other in their final match for the other ticket.

Argentina drew 3-3 with Paraguay in the match held in Caracas, Venezuela. In the previous match, he played a late goal in a 2-2 draw with Venezuela. This time, however, Argentina equalized the match by scoring at the last minute.

After Argentina took the lead in the third minute of the match with the goal of Pablo Solari, Paraguay equalized with the goal of Diego Gomez in the 42nd minute. In the 70th minute, Nunez’s goal made Paraguay 2-1.

However, in the 84th minute, Thiago Almada equalized by scoring a penalty. In the 90th minute, Enzo Gonzalez put Paraguay ahead for the second time, and Argentina was in danger of losing. Federico Ridondo gave Argentina a one-point equalizer in the seventh minute of added time.

There was also drama in the Brazil-Venezuela match held at the same ground. Brazil went ahead with Mauricio’s goal in the 57th minute, but Bolivar equalized Venezuela 10 minutes later. Guillerme Biro scored Brazil’s second goal in the 88th minute as fears grew that Brazil would drop another point after losing 1-0 to Paraguay in the previous match. Endrik assisted the goal shot from outside the box.

Paraguay is on top with 4 points among the four teams that played in the finals. Brazil is second with 3 points, Argentina is third with 2 points. On the last day of the final stage on Sunday night, Paraguay’s opponent is Venezuela, which is fourth with 1 point. If Paraguay can draw the match, they will qualify for the Olympic finals.

Even if they lose, if either team wins the Brazil-Argentina match on Sunday. And Brazil is in an advantageous position between Brazil and Argentina. A draw will do, if Paraguay at least draws against Venezuela. Argentina have no choice but to win.

Even though Paraguay is almost in the final, Brazil-Argentina’s fight is going to be the “final” of the Olympic ticket.
